Haier H43S80EUX 43″ QLED 4K Android Google TV

Haier H43S80EUX 43″ QLED 4K Android Google TV is made for a set that never really gets switched off — news in the morning, cartoons in the afternoon, a film for everyone at night. The 43-inch QLED panel runs 3840 × 2160 with a 5000:1 contrast ratio and 280 cd/m² brightness, and the quantum-dot layer is what makes reds, greens and yellows look saturated rather than flat.

Plenty of homes here still run a dish line, and this set handles that without a separate box: alongside ATV and DVB-T/C/T2 it carries a DVB-S/S2 satellite tuner, so dish, cable and antenna all connect directly. Response time is 6.5 ms, colour depth is 1.07 billion and the refresh rate is 60 Hz.

Google TV runs on an ARM Cortex CA55 processor with Mali G52 MC1 graphics, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32 GB of storage. Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and Google Play are pre-installed, Google Assistant handles voice search through the Bluetooth remote, and with Chromecast built in a phone can throw video straight to the screen. That combination is what makes this Haier QLED 4K TV practical for a household where everyone watches something different.

On connections and sound, there are four HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi and Ethernet LAN, plus 12 W × 2 stereo speakers with Dolby Digital decoding, Sound Surround and Auto Volume Levelling — so an advert does not suddenly blast the room. The set accepts 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, which is worth having on lines that sag and spike, and draws a rated 110 W. Shoppers cross-shopping a Haier 43 Inch QLED TV or any QLED 4K Google TV should read the panel warranty alongside these figures.

Important Usage Instructions

• Run the TV through a good voltage stabiliser or surge protector if evening voltage in your area swings badly.
• Place the screen away from a facing window; reflections on a glossy panel cost more picture quality than any picture setting.
• Fix the supplied wall mount kit to a solid wall and leave a few inches behind the panel for airflow.
• Use a high-speed HDMI cable for 4K sources, and connect the dish or cable feed to the correct RF input for your line type.
• Wipe the screen only with a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth; never spray liquid or use cleaning chemicals on the panel.
