TP-Link VIGI C340I 4MP IR Bullet IP Camera

TP-Link VIGI C340I 4MP IR Bullet IP Camera is built for long-term surveillance of a shop, a warehouse, an office yard or the outside of a house. The real test for an outdoor unit is rain and dust, and this one carries an IP67 rating with a rated operating range of -30 °C to 60 °C.

Resolution is 2560 × 1440 (4MP) at up to 30 fps. Detail is what outdoor footage is for — who walked in, which vehicle stopped. A low-resolution camera falls apart the moment you zoom into the frame, which is exactly when you need it most. Behind the lens is a 1/3" progressive scan CMOS sensor, and DWDR keeps the image usable when a bright doorway and a dark interior are in the same shot.

At night, two 850 nm IR LEDs give a 50 m range. That distance is what separates a camera that covers a doorway from one that covers a long alley, a warehouse frontage or a large yard. An IR cut filter handles the day/night switch and can run in unified, scheduled or auto mode. People detection and vehicle detection classify what triggered the event instead of just reporting movement.

Power and recording matter as much as the picture on a fixed install. This bullet ip camera supports PoE (802.3af/at, class 0, max 5.5 W), so a single network cable carries both data and power and you do not need a socket up on the wall next to it — as a PoE IP camera it also runs from 12V DC (max 5 W) if you prefer. There is one RJ45 10/100M self-adaptive Ethernet port, ONVIF support for connecting into an NVR, and H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 compression to keep recordings from filling storage too quickly. TP-Link VIGI C340I is part of the VIGI business surveillance range rather than the consumer line.

Important Usage Instructions

• Use a PoE switch or injector rated for 802.3af/at so the camera gets stable power over the network cable.
• Mount it high enough to be out of reach and angle it down across the area you want covered.
• Keep bright lamps out of the frame at night — glare in front of the lens ruins IR footage.
• Seal and weatherproof the cable joint at the camera end even though the housing itself is IP67.
• Wipe the lens cover periodically; dust and cobwebs degrade night images before daytime ones.
