Vision 2:1 Multimedia Speaker LOUD-101

Vision 2:1 Multimedia Speaker LOUD-101 is built for rooms where people sing as well as listen. A karaoke function is included and the Dual Mic Option lets two microphones run at once, which is what separates this model from a plain playback set at a birthday, a small programme or a family evening.

Total output is rated at 49W RMS. The subwoofer alone accounts for 25W through a 5.25-inch driver unit, and the two satellites deliver 12W each from 3-inch drivers, keeping low bass and higher notes on separate cabinets. Four UTC2030 integrated circuits sit in the amplifier stage of this LOUD-101 2:1 Multimedia Speaker.

Measured performance covers a 20 Hz to 20 KHz frequency response, a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB or better and distortion at or below 0.5% at 1K and 1W. Playback sources include Bluetooth 4.0, a USB/SD slot, built-in FM radio and a 3.5 mm audio jack with the supplied RCA stereo cable. A remote control and an LED display for time and program complete the controls, and LED lighting runs on both the subwoofer and the satellites.

Shoppers weighing this Vision 49W Speaker against smaller sets should compare subwoofer driver size, microphone support and total RMS. The Vision LOUD-101 Karaoke Speaker measures 358 × 214 × 460 mm overall. Inside every LOUD-101 Bluetooth Speaker carton you get the subwoofer, two satellite speakers, a 3.5 mm-RCA stereo cable, a remote control, an FM antenna, an instruction manual and a warranty card.

Important Usage Instructions

• Keep the microphone pointed away from the satellites while singing, otherwise the loop between mic and speaker causes feedback squeal.
• Stand the subwoofer on the floor and put the satellites at ear height, spaced evenly on either side of the listening spot.
• Back the volume off as soon as the sound starts to distort, since running the amplifier clipped is the fastest way to damage drivers.
• Unplug the set during lightning or heavy load shedding and avoid using it on an unstable power line.
• Wipe the cabinets with a dry cloth, keep the grilles dust free and store the microphones away from moisture.
