Vision RC-3.0L Single Pot Regular Rice Cooker

Vision RC-3.0L Single Pot Regular Rice Cooker is the plain, no-fuss kind of cooker: rice in, water in, press the switch down and walk away. The 3.0 litre cylinder shaped pot suits one meal for a mid-sized family, and at 1100W the rice is done in 15 to 20 minutes.

Inside sits a single aluminium pot with a 1.2 mm actual non-stick coating, so the layer that sticks to the base lifts off instead of needing to be scraped. The outer body is full stainless steel at 0.28 mm thickness, and the heating element is coated as well, which is what makes wiping away spilled starch straightforward.

The most useful part is the magnetic switch working with the built-in thermostat. Once the water has boiled off, the base temperature climbs sharply and the magnetic switch drops the cooker from cook to warm on its own — nobody has to stand over it and the rice does not burn. The thermostat then holds the heat at a precise and uniform level, and warm mode carries an antibacterial action.

An aluminium/stainless steel steamer with a plastic handle is included, so vegetables, eggs or fish can steam in the rising vapour while the rice cooks below — one appliance, one burner's worth of work. The lid is glass with two 6–6.5 mm holes to vent excess steam and let you see inside without lifting it. Anyone choosing a Vision Rice Cooker 3.0 Litre should check the pot type and coating thickness; this 1100W rice cooker is a Single Pot Rice Cooker with a single aluminium pot and a 1.2 mm non-stick coating.

Important Usage Instructions

• Wipe the outside of the inner pot dry before putting it into the cooker — a wet base stops the plate heating evenly.
• Do not fill past the top marking on the pot, and keep the rice and water inside the 3.0 litre capacity.
• Use a wooden or plastic spoon on the non-stick coating; a steel spoon will scratch through the 1.2 mm layer.
• Leave the cooker on warm rather than switching cook on again, and unplug it once the meal is served.
• Let the pot cool before washing, wash only the pot, lid and steamer, and never put the outer body or the base plate into water.
